All about me
My name is Irina, I am a registered childminder in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. I live with my french husband and my three and a half year old son .
I have worked in childcare for over 15 years and I am a trained early years musician. I can also speak 3 languages fluently : Romanian, Italian and French.
Along the years I have cared for many children varying in age from 1 month up to 8 years, children of different nationalities, learning difficulties and special needs . When I lived in Italy the focus of my work was to help with the rehabilitation and to assist with therapies as well as implementing all activities as described by the specialists.
Since 2015 I worked in various nurseries and schools in London running Music and Movement sessions for ELM Performance and teaching various groups, age 0-6 at Crescendo and Saturday music centre – assisting children with self expression through artistic methods such as dance, sing and role play and encouraging collaborative music making using rhythm, rhymes and songs to build a sense of spoken vocabulary.
All about the setting
I offer childcare services on:
- Mondays: 8am – 5:30pm
- Tuesdays: 8am – 5:30pm
- Wednesdays: 8am – 5:30pm
In our house we have a room dedicated for children’s play and wellbeing and we also have a large garden where children can play.
As an early years musician and a childminder, planning educational and fun activities to engage children throughout the day, I have the ideal opportunity to include music and movement.
Music activities and experiences help children practice important skills, including thinking, language, motor coordination and understanding emotions.
Fees
Hourly rate: £6.00
The fee includes snacks, drinks, lunch and light tea.
Not included are nappy, wipes, formula milk. Parents will be expected to provide these items.
Also parents to provide a change of clothes, which can be in a draw string bag or ruck sack.
Occasional charges
There may be times that other fees are added to your monthly invoice.
These include:
- Late collection fee: £5.00 per 15′ min late collection
- Early arrival/Late drop off fee: £5.00 per 15′ min
- Late payment fee – your regular payment is due on the 26th of each month. Late payment incurs a fee of £20 per day .
Deposit
It is my policy to charge a month’s worth deposit to reserve a place in my setting. The deposit is refundable at the end of the contract .

Payment in arrears
Daily, Weekly, Monthly : Monthly
Preferred mode of payment – cash or BACS
Holidays and unplanned absences
I take 4 weeks holidays plus bank holidays each year which is charged 50%.
I will share my holiday dates by 30 November each year.
There also may be the occasional morning, afternoon or day where I will be closed for such things as doctors or dentist appointments.
50% fees apply for parents holidays.
Bank holidays are :
- Good Friday
- Easter Monday
- Early May bank holiday
- Spring bank holiday
- Summer bank holiday
- Christmas Day
- Boxing day
If I have to close my setting at short notice, for example because of sickness or emergencies – No fees will apply.
